## How it works

The official rules set the numbers: a deck of exactly 50 cards with up to four copies of each card, a starting hand of five, one optional redraw, and one card drawn in the draw phase of every turn, including the first turn of the player who goes first.

The chance comes from the hypergeometric distribution, the exact math for drawing without replacement. The six shield cards are placed face down from the top of the deck, so they are cards you do not see; they do not change the odds of the cards you draw.

With the redraw on, the tool assumes you redraw when your opening hand has none of the cards you are looking for. The rules put the whole hand on the bottom of the deck, draw five new cards, then shuffle, and the math follows that order.

Formula: P(at least k) = 1 − Σ C(K, i)·C(N − K, n − i) / C(N, n), for i < k.


## Good to know

- Search effects and card draw from card text are not included; they only raise your odds.
- Counting "copies" works for any group of cards that do the same job, such as all your 2-cost units.
