The short version

We do not sell your personal information. We handle only what is needed to run, secure and support our services, and every app has its own privacy page listing what it stores and which providers it uses. For access or deletion, write to privacy@lucernel.com.

1. Overview

This policy explains what information Lucernel may handle through its websites, mobile apps, support pages, APIs, integrations, automations, and related services.
Lucernel LLC also operates Musael at https://musael.com (website) and https://app.musael.com (workspace and accounts). This policy covers that service; its own privacy notice provides service-specific details.

2. Data we may collect

Contact details, such as email address and support messages.
Account and authentication data needed to provide connected services.
App, website, and device activity needed for product operation, analytics, security, debugging, and support.
Visits to this website: the pages viewed, the site that sent you, where people click and how far they scroll, clicks toward the App Store and page speed, counted without cookies.
Content, prompts, files, URLs, posts, schedules, metadata, and instructions you submit to apps, APIs, or connected tools.
For Musael, this may include your account details, manuscripts, characters, world-building records and other material you choose to save or sync with the service.
Purchase, subscription, entitlement, and billing status from payment providers.

3. How we use data

To provide, secure, debug, and improve Lucernel apps, websites, APIs, automations, and support.
To process subscriptions, purchases, account requests, deletion requests, and support messages.
To operate integrations with third-party services you choose to connect.
To comply with legal obligations, platform rules, fraud prevention, and security requirements.

4. APIs and connected platforms

If you connect a third-party platform, Lucernel may process tokens, permissions, workspace identifiers, account identifiers, content, schedules, and API responses needed to operate that connection.
Lucernel only uses connected-platform access to provide the service, debug problems, prevent abuse, comply with law, or follow your instructions.
Third-party platforms may also collect and process data under their own privacy policies.

5. App data, cookies and local storage

Lucernel apps may store some data on your device, in Apple services such as iCloud or CloudKit, or in app-specific backend services.
Health information, such as the meals, symptoms, migraine attacks and medication recorded in Gutli and Miggry, stays on your device. These apps never store it in iCloud; a backup file you export yourself is the way to keep it after a reinstall or on a new device.
Some apps are local-first; others use cloud services, analytics, payment infrastructure, or AI providers. App-specific legal pages may provide more detail.
Deleting an app may remove local data unless the app or platform stores a synced backup.
This website remembers your language and animation choices in your browser’s local storage; they stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Cookieless visit counting on lucernel.com does not mean that every Lucernel service is cookie-free. Musael and its Cloudflare Access gate may use necessary cookies or browser storage for sign-in, sessions and access security. Musael’s privacy notice explains its own analytics and storage settings.

6. Third-party processors

Lucernel may use service providers for hosting, databases, analytics, payments, app stores, AI processing, customer support, email delivery, social publishing, and API infrastructure.
Visit counting on lucernel.com uses PostHog (EU servers) without analytics cookies or browser storage; IP addresses are anonymized. Language and animation preferences are separate, as described above.
Musael providers: netcup hosts the service in Germany; Cloudflare provides DNS, content delivery, security and access controls; PostHog EU provides statistics. These providers process the data needed for their respective functions.
Musael uses Stripe Managed Payments for live payments, with Link as the merchant of record. Stripe and Link process the payment, billing and tax information needed for the transaction. The applicable purchase terms are shown at checkout.
Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) is planned for Musael’s transactional email. It is not yet an active email provider for Musael; this notice will be updated when it is enabled.
We do not sell your personal information.
We share data only with service providers needed to run the services, legal authorities when required, or as part of a business transfer.

7. Retention

We keep data only as long as needed to provide the services, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, secure the services, or maintain business records.
Connected-service tokens and operational records may be removed when an account, workspace, or integration is disconnected, unless retention is required for security, legal, or billing reasons.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict the processing of your personal data.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
